how a scrapbook changed my life

Hi! I'm Kaylen, the owner of Faye Paper Co!

When I started working full time, I fell into a routine I bet you know well. I'd come home, sink into the couch, and scroll. Hours would go by and I'd feel more tired than when I started. I was mentally and physically exhausted, and I couldn't figure out why.

So one night, I printed out my college photos and started a scrapbook with my mom's help. For the first time in a long time, I felt energized and relaxed at the same time. I wasn't consuming anything. I was making something.

That little scrapbook changed my life, and it's the reason Faye Paper Co exists.

WHY FAYE PAPER CO STARTED

My mom started scrapbooking when she was in college, and over the years she's collected quite a bit of craft supplies. Some of my favorite memories are scrapbooking with her.

But somewhere along the way, I feel like we've lost the plot on what scrapbooking is truly about. We're constantly consuming so much media, and everyone is telling us we "need" the newest tool.

I started Faye Paper Co to bring back those nostalgic, simple memories of being creative and spending time with people.

how faye got its name

Faye is a family middle name, passed down through generations. My grandma (Oma) never liked the "e" at the end of hers, so she gave my mom the middle name Fay. My mom wanted to keep the original tradition going, so she ended up naming me Kaylen Faye.

WHY THE "E" IS UPSIDE DOWN

That little flipped e in our logo means two things to me.

It's our family story. It's a nod to the generations of creative people that came before me.

It's a reminder that imperfect is beautiful. Creativity, and life, are meant to be a little messy. In a world so used to seeing everything perfectly polished on social media, we hope Faye Paper Co helps you let go of perfectionism and be creative.
